Overemphasis on recent events

[edit]

Article seems a bit overly focused on her comeback, given how successful she was prior to retiring. 74.131.173.10 (talk) 14:46, 23 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

2008-2017 section needs large trim down - emphasis should be on 1990's Career

[edit]

There seems to be far too much week-in, week-out detail on Date's career 2008-2017 when she was ranked between 50-150 and winning very few matches at grand slams, and - comparatively - very little on her career 1992-1996 when she was a top-10 player reaching grand slam semifinals and defeating the world's best players on a regular basis.

Her comeback period 2008-2017, when she was aged in her 40's, is worthy of some coverage in summary, but the weighting in length of writing/detail should really be on her 1990's career, as this was by far her most successful period (and also the period for which she is most famous/renowned).

Therefore, I think the 2008-2017 section needs to be trimmed down significantly.

A few issues with tone too (lacks encyclopedic style on occasion). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tennisguista (talkcontribs) 13:44, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
